OH-2: The Schmidt Campaign Is The Gift That Keeps On Giving

The Jean Schmidt train wreck just keeps going and going like the Energizer Bunny. They're still trying to attack Victoria Wulsin over the whole Malariotherapy thing.

Here's what Jean's Chief of Staff Barry Bennett recently said to Congress Daily:

"We are not saying she was involved in human testing. But she wrote the report, she reviewed all the data and she took their money — their dirty money — and put it in her bank account."

Well guess what? Phil Heimlich, a member of the Board of Directors of the institute in question, seems to be quite the political donor. Among those who have benefited from this "dirty money" include the likes of John McCain, Mitt Romney, George W. Bush, and Jean Schmidt herself.

Furthermore, Schmidt did allege that Wulsin participated in the experiments. In a fundraising letter, Schmidt wrote:

"Wulsin's contempt for the culture of life has even led her to participate in grotesque medical experiments,"

Heimlich

Correction, Please!  It is Dr. Henry Heimlich, not his attorney son who served on the board and is a generous contributor to Republican candidates for President, and congress.

Wrong on all counts. Dr. Henry Heimlich and his son Phil Heimlich (uber-hard right Republican turned Christian radio talk show host) are both board members of the Heimlich Institute. Take a look at the organization's 2006 IRS 990.

Like it or not, that's part of the problem facing OH 2nd Dems. Uber-Repub Phil Heimlich has access to her employment records and the records of the AIDS experiments. So if Wulsin has not been telling the truth, he has her in the palm of his hand. If she wins the race, so does Heimlich. If he needs a favor, all he has to do is remind her of what's in his file cabinet.

As for the campaign donations, both Dr. Heimlich and Phil Heimlich have a history of low-money donations to Repub candidates.
