OH-15: Mary Jo Kilroy Knows More About Energy Policy Than Glenn Beck

Yesterday, Mary Jo Kilroy held an event with Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) of DCCC 2006 fame, in which she laid out a dynamic energy strategy that will produce results, help our economy, end our dependence on foreign oil, and reduce our CO2 emissions all the same time. The goal of the strategy is to encourage fuel cell research, the development of plug-in hybrids and second generation biofuels, with the ultimate goal of producing gasoline free cars by 2020. Kilroy and Emanuel even test drove a plug in fuel cell vehicle under development at OSU.
This bold, ambitious plan is exactly the right medicine for $4/gallon gasoline. It harnesses the most powerful force on the planet in the last 200 years -- American innovation -- to solve the energy crisis.
In contrast, CNN's Glenn Beck took the opportunity yesterday to parrot the "Drill Here, Drill Now" GOP talking point that even Chevron's CEO says is nonsense. Not once did we hear ol' Glenny mention the word conservation, or how improving our nation's fuel economy will save so much oil that it will make ANWR and the outer Continental Shelf look like a drop in the bucket.
Isn't it great that the next Congresswoman from the Ohio 15th knows more about energy policy than a nationally syndicated CNN broadcaster?
